Tearsall Quarry

Dear Supporter,

The village of Wensley urgently needs your help. Glebe Mining has applied to re-commence and extend quarrying for fluorspar at Tearsall. This line of trees can be seen from many parts of the A6 and surrounding villages. It is planned that quarrying will continue for 6 years with a further year for restoration. The quarrying process will include blasting on a monthly basis. The quarry will operate from 7.00am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 7.00am until 1pm on Saturdays. 50 lorry journeys a day will pass through Bakewell

We have about 250 letters of objection so far but we need to raise at least 350 to have the maximum impact and we only have until the end of July. So whether you are resident or a visitor to the Peak Park who enjoys the peace, tranquillity and unspoilt views your support is important to us.
